Air
Guiyang Longdong Bao International Airport (KWE) is located about ten kilometers (6.2 miles) from the city center. As an international airport, flights connect from here to Hong Kong and Bangkok as well as many Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Haikou, Shenzhen, Kunming, Zhuhai, Fuzhou, Guilin, Xiamen, Nanjing, Shantou, Shenyang, Dalian, Qingdao, Xian, Chongqing, Nanchang and Hangzhou. A new route operates between Guiyang and Macau and is available every Monday and Thursday.
There is an airport shuttle bus available. The bus runs daily every 30 minutes from 8:30 to 18:30. The bus fare is CNY 10. You can catch the bus from the CAAC Ticket Office at the junction of Zunyi Lu and Qingyun Lu.
If you take a taxi, the fare is about CNY 50 between the airport and the city center.
Train
Guiyang acts as the transportation center of Guizhou Province. Transportation links depend mainly on the rail system. Four railways pass through Guiyang connecting to Chongqing, Chengdu, Liuzhou of Guangxi, Kunming and Zhuzhou and of course major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Zhanjiang and Beihai and so on.
Also running from Guiyang are trains running to tourist destinations such as Fanjing Mountain (between Guiyang and Liupanshui City), Huangguoshu (between Guiyang and Yuping County), Zunyi (between Guiyang and Zunyi) and between Guiyang and Tongzi County, Kaili City and Duyun City. Also Train Maotai (between Guiyuang and Beijing) and Train Huaxi (between Guizhou and Kunming) are available here.
Guiyang Railway Station is located in downtown Guiyang. From the station, buses No. 1 and 2 are available for your convenience.
City-bus
Guiyang is the first city in China to adopt self-service ticketing for its public transportation. The bus fare is CNY 1. Public buses No. 1 and 2 run between the Railway Station and Qianling Park throughout the day. Bus No. 26 runs between Hebin Park and Huaxi, while bus No. 38 between Hebei Park and Tianhetan Scenic Area.
A word of warning: Guiyang is a hilly city, so it is suggested that tourists not drive cars themselves to avoid accidents.
Taxi
Taxis can be hailed in the street. The rate is CNY 8-10 for the first three kilometers (1.9 miles) and CNY 1.4-1.6 for every succeeding kilometer. However, it has become usual to pay CNY 10 for ride in the downtown area in daytime and CNY 12 after 22:00.
