| Pick you up from your hotel or apartment to visit the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. This bridge is one of the most famous in all of China. It was the first two level and two track highway and railway bridge that was designed and constructed by the Chinese. Each arch of the main bridge spans 160 meters. After visiting the bridge, you will visit Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum. The mausoleum is located at the base of the second peak of Mount Zijin. The tomb, which is nestled on the mountain slope, took three years to build, from 1926 to 1929.
Next, lunch will be served at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to the city wall and the Zhonghua City Gate. The city gate is the best looking gate of the Nanjing city wall, which is also the best preserved Chinese ancient castle. The gate has three trap cities, making up the enclosed vacant lots between the four delicately designed archways of the gate. The structure is built of bricks and special cement to maintain its strength. Finally you will visit the Confucius Temple. The temple, built in 1034, is situated on the north bank of the Qinhuai River, and consists of 3 architectural complexes. The Confucius Temple is an important place for the Chinese, which consider it as a center of their culture, commerce and life of the city. Around the city are buildings that have Ming and Qing style architecture. You can find arcades, restaurants, tourist shops and small food stalls all around the temple There is a night market that opens every night and offers more opportunity to buy souvenirs and food. After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel or apartment.
